To help build excitement for (or feed off of the excitement from) Scott Pilgrim vs. The World, director Edgar Wright‘s adaptation of the Scott Pilgrim comic book series by Bryan O’Malley, Adult Swim will air a “love letter” to Scott Pilgrim in animation form called Scott Pilgrim vs. The Animation the night before the release of the movie.

What would a Marvel movie be without a cameo from Stan “The Man” Lee? According to Lee, it would be a huge flop, joking to MTV that “every movie producer realizes that the only reason people go to the movie is to see my cameo, so they dare not omit it.”
Lee said that he has just finished shooting his cameo in Thor, and that he’s looking forward to playing a different type of role in Captain America. That is, if the shoot comes back to the States for some of the filming.

“I really don’t have time to go to England, but I think they might shoot some scenes here, so I’ll get a chance to be in that one, too.

“I really don’t know [which character I'll play in Captain America], because I don’t know the script…[But] instead of always making me such a wonderful person, which I really I am, I wish they’d make me a villain, so I can exercise my acting chops.”

The film stars Rainn Wilson(The Office) as the husband of Liv Tyler who begins an affair with a drug dealer played by Kevin Bacon. He snaps, puts on a costume, and calls himself The Crimson Bolt. He then gains a sidekick in Ellen Page’s fruitcake teenager and sets about fighting crime.

As many of you know, we went to Comic-Con this weekend and showed the first ever footage from SUPER. As reported on nearly every fan site, the crowd ate it up! The panel consisted of me, Rainn Wilson, Ellen Page, Liv Tyler, Nathan Fillion, Michael Rooker, and producers Ted Hope and Miranda Bailey. I was so excited that everyone changed their plans around to make it to the Con after showing them a cut of the film last week. SUPER is a VERY low-budget film made as a labor of love by all involved – as I said at the panel, everyone on the film, from me, to all of the actors, to the composer Tyler Bates, are all working on the film for the lowest amount the guilds allow. Yes, I know, there have been other films that are superficially the same as ours, movies about real people becoming superheroes – including some very good ones. But ours is the first that, although funny, focuses first and foremost on the emotions of the characters involved. It is a dark, gritty, violent, no-hold-barred independent film that is, I promise you, not at all what you expect.

Actually, even with the emotions at eh forefront it does still sound a lot like Defendor, but we’l give ya the benefit of the doubt! Here are the panel vids..

Synopsis

Megamind (Will Ferrell) and his life-long archenemy, Metro Man (Brad Pitt) are aliens that were sent away from their respective home planets in time of crisis. Megamind, taking the role of super villain, continuously loses in battle to Metro Man. It seems that the pattern will never cease until Megamind apparently kills him with a solar-powered satellite during one of his many hostage plots. Let Me In, tells a terrifying tale about an alienated 12-year old boy named Owen (Kodi Smit-McPhee) who is viciously bullied by his classmates and neglected by his divorcing parents. Achingly lonely, Owen spends his days plotting revenge on his middle school tormentors and his evenings spying on the other inhabitants of his apartment complex. His only friend is his new neighbor Abby (Chloe Moretz), an eerily self-possessed young girl who lives next door with her silent father (Oscar® nominee Richard Jenkins). A frail, troubled child about Owens’s age, Abby emerges from her heavily curtained apartment only at night and always barefoot, seemingly immune to the bitter winter elements. Recognizing a fellow outcast, Owen opens up to her and before long, the two have formed a unique bond.

Dark Horse will be releasing a companion graphic novel for the movie. While the storyline is being kept under wraps, Dark Horse Comics and writer Marc Andreyko (Manhunter, Predators) are working with Hammer to create a chilling and exciting comic that will incorporate some of the film’s characters and mythology with some fresh themes. The Let Me In graphic novel will be distributed in stores in conjunction with its theatrical release from Overture Films in October 2010.

Actor Chris Evans sat down with MTV to discuss his new movie, Captain America: The First Avenger, which he took a break from filming to attend the San Diego Comic-Con, and spoke at length about the characteristic star-spangled costume and shield.

Evans confirmed that the suit would be “chunkier” and utilitarian:

“It’s not this sleek spandex suit. It looks like something you might wear in the ’40s in the middle of a war.”

He went on to say that the costume will go through different stages as Steve Rogers transitions from regular Joe to Captain America:

“There’s a couple stages and initially in the script, Steve isn’t Captain America right away. He gets the injection and isn’t asked to go to war right off the bat. He’s used in different areas and different facets, so he has different stages of the suit. I don’t think he actually jumps into the final suit until the third act of the film.”

Cap’s shield will also evolve throughout the film:

“Well, during the USO tour, there’s obviously a different shield. And he goes on a couple missions, he goes AWOL and kind of takes the USO shield. And eventually, once he’s kind of allowed to be this soldier, and they outfit him with the new uniform, they decide to outfit him with an updated shield.”
